Data Deletion Instructions

At fileEC, you can request deletion of your personal data at any time. This page explains how to do that and what happens to your information.

How to request deletion of your data

If you have a fileEC account:

  1. Log in to your fileEC account.
  2. Go to Settings (or Account) in your dashboard.
  3. Find the option to Delete account or Request data deletion.
  4. Follow the prompts and confirm. Your account and associated data will be scheduled for deletion.

If you signed in with a third party (e.g. Facebook/Meta, Google):

You can still request deletion by contacting us with the email address linked to your fileEC account. We will verify your identity and then process your deletion request.

To contact us: Use our contact page and select or mention "Data deletion request" (or similar). Please send your request from the email address associated with your fileEC account so we can verify it.

What we delete

When you request deletion, we will delete or anonymize:

  • Your account profile (name, email, and other account details)
  • Files and content you uploaded or stored with fileEC
  • Usage and activity data linked to your account
  • Other personal data we hold about you, except where we must retain it for legal, security, or fraud-prevention reasons

How long it takes

We aim to complete data deletion requests within 30 days. You may receive a confirmation email once the process is complete. Some data may remain in backups for a limited period but will be removed in line with our retention policy.
