What happens when I exceed my quota?
We notify you when you approach your limit. Extra capacity and prepaid packs may be available. Contact us for Enterprise custom volumes.
What does "Documents processed / month" mean?
A processed document is a unique document workflow instance handled by fileEC. Uploading a document, submitting through a client portal request, or starting a workflow counts as one processed document. Viewing, downloading, or storing documents does not increase the count. Storage usage is separate.
Do document revisions count as additional documents?
No. Revisions, corrections, or re-uploads within the same workflow do not count as additional documents. Each workflow instance counts once.
What are AI actions?
AI actions are used when you run AI features such as extraction, summarization, or classification on documents. AI usage is counted separately from documents processed.
What is included in the free trial?
The 14-day free trial includes core workflow features: client portal, document requests, checklists, approvals, and e-signatures. Usage is limited during the trial. No credit card is required. You can upgrade at any time.
How does storage usage work?
Storage is the total size of files stored in your workspace. It does not affect document processing or AI action limits. Each plan includes a set storage amount (e.g. 10 GB for Starter, 100 GB for Team).

Can I upgrade or change my plan later?
